I am a freelance landscape photographer originally from Manchester, England and currently working throughout the north of England and Serbia.

I have always felt a great love for the land and moved to landscape photography as part of a natural progression from a background in paint and pastel. Whilst I still like to paint, there are times when I feel a greater need to capture the beauty of a fleeting moment, at the instant it happens.

Rather than seeing the modern era of photography as a replacement for painting, I therefore see it as more of a compliment. Two art forms that say similar things in similar ways, but each with their own unique identity, each allowing me to say "Look at this! Isn’t it incredible?! Isn’t this what life is all about?!".

Assignments & Commissions

As a freelance photographer I am able to undertake work, often at short-notice, throughout the UK and Europe. I am also able to write informative articles for printed and web media that provide both technical and evocative commentary as required.

In that sense I see myself as being both a creative photographer, and also a narrator communicating my passion and vision for the land we live in and the life we have. It is that sense of passion and vision which is at the heart of everything I do and which guides me towards seeing the often-missed beauty that is all around us.

Through my photography I create images which speak from the heart, to the heart. Whether alone on the banks of icy rivers and lakes on a winter morning, or gazing upon the last life-giving rays of sun on a summer night, I stand always in awe of the supreme majesty of the land.
